We're proud to highlight the launch and ongoing work of the French Bulldog Foundation of America (FBDFA) — a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the health, welfare, and longevity of French Bulldogs through science-based advocacy, public education, research, and support for ethical breeding practices.
At Crowd Pleazer Frenchies, our mantra has always been Health Above All Else — backed by comprehensive OFA certifications, PennHIP evaluations, CHIC compliance, and transparent sharing of results to prove that normal/healthy outcomes are achievable and repeatable in our breed.
The FBDFA shares this same commitment, focusing on:

Beep's Hip Rated OFA EXCELLENT
It's official... Beep has a great set of hips on her. She's CHC certified with OFA EXCELLENT Hips (final)She received OFA Excellent Prelims at 20 month (maternal uncle is also Excellent), and sire is OFA GOOD, dam is OFA Fair. Littermates are PennHIP with Stitch at .34 x.36 and CoCo at .44 x .56.
I hope these results inspire others to have their Frenchies evaluated. The idea is that the more often you breed "Normal" to normal, the likelihood of normal hips increases... so while your Frenchie need not start out perfectly, the goal is to increase the likelihood of normal, healthy offspring in each planned and purposeful generation.

Coco, the littermate to Beep, sired by AKC CH Duval Bullies Ignite BCAT (ABKC GRCH), has been rated a 100% Normal spine with a "normal" PENNHIP score as well.
I hope these results inspire others to have their Frenchies evaluated. CH. ZULI scores ALL TIME BEST FBD PennHip rating (.21 x .21)
She did it! Congratulations Zuli! This is the BEST PennHip rating to date on file with OFA for French Bulldogs in the entire database: an incredibly tight .21 x .21 on BOTH hips. Yes… you’re seeing that right… she’s literally off the chart… far left actually… in a little zone without anyone else near her. It’s really incredible and something I would have never predicted.
And, she’s in good company, being the fourth in her litter to earn OFA GOOD hips (like her sire, GRCH Cooper BCAT and her Dam, Athena) and/or PennHip like littermate CH Iceman (.34 x .31). Her brother, Doc Holidaze also earned OFA GOOD as did our own Dominion.
Zuli’s rating just blew the door off the former PennHip long-reining holder, GRCH Peerless Hannibal at the Gates, son of GRCH Benny x Abby, who has an incredible rating of .28 x .30.
The point of this post is less about “bragging” but rather about “Proof of Concept” in that this TOO can be the story of your French Bulldogs in the future. Why? Because it confirms the data compiled by Dr. Jarold Bell at OFA suggesting that NORMAL hips are more likely through depth and breadth of pedigree for NORMAL. Zuli is a grand daughter and great grand daughter of GRCH Benny on top and on bottom, with four generations of OFA NORMAL hips that go back to OFA Excellent.
And she’s the fourth of four tested Littermates… all with the same story. AND this rating is just months following her litter to GRCH Hannibal… not bad for a new mom! 👏👏👏
So, to all those who are considering trying this out yourselves, I wish you the very best, and may Zuli’s rating become quickly replaced as others join to testing field ❤️

GRCH Hannibal Scores Tightest Male FBD Pennhip in OFA Database
GRCH. Peerless Hannibal at the Gates has scored a .28/.30 in Pennhip, making him the lowest/tightest rating in the OFA Database. This score of .30 or lower is considered equivalent to an OFA rating of EXCELLENT and the lowest risk for dysplasia in the breed. This lilac fawn and tan pied health tested son of GRCH Lilac Haze Bendrix and Abigail Buttercup earned his ABKC Champion title at 9 months and his GRCH at 18 months. Benny's 2x Grandson, Louie, sired by GRCH Indy Pendence out of Paisley Rose has completed his preliminary OFA hip evaluations and scored EXCELLENT hips as well as normal Trachea, Patellas, Heart, Elbows and minimal anomalies on the thoracic spine. Louie joins the count of Benny's health tested offspring/grand babies and grand children with OFA GOOD hips or better over 45 tested!

Blue Haze Coupe, son of GRCH Lilac Haze Bendrix earned his AKC BCAT title and has scored OFA GOOD Hips on his OFA CHIC Evaluation, making him the 27th of 38 offspring of Benny to score this rating or better. He also sired the best rated PennHIP on record for a Frenchie (.21 x .21) with all four littermates rating either OFA GOOD or PennHip in the excellent-good range. GRCH Benny Earns Fast CAT B Title at Age SIX!
No small feat! At age 6+, GRCH Benny earned his first AKC Title for PERFORMANCE in the FAST CAT division!
Joined by GRCH Pip and Benny's son, GRCH Cooper, all three boys completed sprints of 100 yards clocking up to 16.2 mph. Each of the boys are under 12 inches.

Why is this important? This beautiful lilac sable fawn French Bulldog is linebred to GRCH Lilac Haze Bendrix and like his three Littermates, has both OFA AND PennHip scores that rated normal with actually really great LDI ratings.
This supports the concept that purposefully bred French Bulldogs that have depth and breadth of pedigree for NORMAL OFA results will have a greater likelihood for also testing “Normal”.
This is proof of concept for others… this can be YOUR story too.

Crowd Pleazer’s Dirty Martini and GRCH Lilac Haze Bendrix (Star Il Dago Ungherese x Ornelas Frida). A 💯 clear OFA spine and a pair of EXCELLENT rated hips. Both are Cystinuria 3 clear (VERY important) and clear JHC/CMR1/HUU. Dirty just placed Best of Winners in Placerville winning his class of nine (9-12mos) and Best Male.
Both boys were bred by veterinarian Enrique Ornelas and Luis Ramirez. I don’t know of ANY French Bulldog breeder who has achieved these two amazing scores, let alone in full siblings.

And she did it in just two shows, including the Vegas Bully Casino II with some of the top competition in 2021 at just over on year old.
