It doesn't matter how beautiful the shell is if the inside is rotten.
There are few things more heart breaking than having to lose a cherished pet to a genetic disease, especially if it could have been prevented.
That is why Crowd Pleazer Frenchies has made it a top priority to test beyond the minimum. We've stepped up our game and encourage other breeders of ALL colors to join us. We want to know what's in our dog's DNA in addition to PHYSICAL health screens (OFA) to ensure that any stud we breed has the health and structure that should be passed along, not just color.
We health test AND screen our studs and program females over 182+ genetic diseases, not just the top three or four, which are important for any stud or female you want to breed. But we don't stop there. We went the extra mile and sought to get Orthapedic Foundaion for Animals (OFA) certifications for our foundation stud the day he turned 2 years old. And we didn't stop with the heart or the hips. We also tested the elbows, trachea, patellas and SPINEwhich is not very common among the Frenchie community. Why? Because Benny's that good. And MOST importantly, because it's the RIGHT THING TO DO.
And we do that for EVERY in-house stud and all of our program females.
When you choose a stud for your future litter, ask yourself how much do you really know about that dog? Has he been tested for anything besides color? When someone posts that their stud is DNA Health Panel Clear, is that statement alone enough for you? How are his hips, elbows and knees? Has he had his heart tested? And what exactly IS GOING ON in that spine? Because a lot of functional movement (and lack thereof) can be traced to an impingement of the spine and shoulder girdle. If you don't know the answer, you should ask BEFORE you go forward.
No fire emoji or social media post can replace the lack of health or structure. Anyone who tells you differently is simply marketing an idea. Sometimes the Kool-Aide is sour: test it before you chug.
OFA-CHIC Health Testing Requirements
The OFA, working with the breed's parent club, recommends basic health screening tests for all breeding stock.
Dogs meeting these basic health screening requirements will be issued Canine Health Information Center (CHIC) numbers. For CHIC certification, all results do not need to be normal, but they must all be in the public domain so that responsible breeders can make more informed breeding decisions.
We started out small with Benny, our lilac fawn pied stud just wanting a quality Frenchie. He was adorable and while we knew he was breeding quality, that wasn't our main goal. We picked him to be our "Forever Frenchie". He HAD to be a good citizen. Cute as he may have been, his job was to be a family member first! We don't rely upon this dog to pay our bills. We have day jobs. This is for fun.
Benny's breeders had initially decided to keep him for their own program. They were on the fence. After several weeks they decided to meet with us. It was love at first sight and by the end of the weekend, Benny was riding first class with the JetBlue flight crew home with us on the condition we would not neuter him until his Breeders could evaluate him as he matured. We didn't think much of it... we were just thrilled to have this special grey-eyed boy home with us.
A year later, his Breeders messaged us after seeing some of Benny's social media posts. They asked for videos and we chatted. We agreed to keep him uncut for another six months, at which time we agreed to keep him a stud ONLY if he passed a vet exam for health. We take health seriously and have gone the extra mile to pursue OFA certification (see below).
After that passed, we agreed to test him only for DNA health panel. We didn't want to know about color tests. Why? Because none of those mattered if he was unfit genetically. Health was more important. When that cleared (and after his breeders got super excited with the results), we decided to jump into the fun world of French Bulldog DNA Color panels.... (dramatic pause)... and what a whirlwind it's been.

They say you can't have color with structure, but that was before they knew about Benny. And he's OFA certified and tested clear for over 171 genetic diseases!
We're small and that's not a bad thing. We are 100% verifiable and we love the French Bulldog for all of its wonderful traits, above all else as your faithful, funny, wonderful companion.
We love the beautiful colors that have become widely available, but before any of that, health and disposition are paramount. We have partnered with several well-respected and knowledgeable breeders to pair our dogs with the best possible matches, especially if it results in a pied French Bulldog. It's not just about color. We want to bring disposition, structure and athleticism to a healthy litter that will include your next best friend(s).
After a lot of mentoring by some wonderful established breeders who have been doing this for a LOOOOONG time, we are happy to find that we've got a pretty cool little lilac fawn pied French Bulldog who just so happens to be true to type in a world full of extreme tastes and preferences.
Yes, he's double Pied. He's got two copies. For a while that seemed to be not cool... and now it's back. Turns out people like Pied pups.. They're cute and go to good homes fast.
This is a flashy bright fawn who can automatically pass blue and chocolate to his pups and also happens to have all that chrome. If you are looking for a quality Pied boy, this is your guy!
Want to mix it up on the Agouti allele with the Ay/a gene? Benny's got the goods. And if that's not enough, he's got those lines... Predator, Kingsblood, Little Monster, Gold Sierra, Marosmenti, Kissabulz, Von Der Monarchia.
If you're reading this far, you're probably one of the "Preservatives" I've managed to upset with the breed research currently being conducted by my team and you're hoping for some dirt. Here you go:
Human Being that believes Human & Kind belong together. Mom to kids, extended family and dogs. Wife to a retired Navy Commander of 28+ years. Proud daughter of a Police Chief. Family full of litigators, policy makers and public servants.
30+ years Software IT and Gov’t attestations, audits, regulations and conformance including TRICARE and the FDA regulated medical device industry. FBI clearance, trusted with personal Health and Payment information.
I support our Military, our 1st Responders, our Nurses and Essential workers & I donate my TIME, MONEY & HEART to these causes. I regularly support non-profits, particularly those who help animals, children and our veterans. Favorites are Footprint Hereos, IRF22.org, St. Jude, and local shelters.
Before Frenchies, I competed Internationally with IAHA and AERC on Arabian horses, competing at Nationals at age 17 in Hunters and Jumpers; then 3 Day Event on the same horse in Open breeds and at age 30 doing Endurance at the 2000 AERC Nationals and the Western States 100.
I've competed in Crossfit with my husband as a Masters Athlete and enjoy walking on my hands, so yes, I'm crazy (in a good way).
So go ahead, I already know who you are. Attack my Integrity. You can’t take it away and I’m certainly not giving it to you. You don’t own me. You don’t control me. And you CANNOT change the history of this breed… raw data and FACTS are EASILY searchable... none of that can change by diverting the narrative.
Because I'm Happy!

Benny & The Nose that Knows
We place French Bulldog health above all else. We care about our dogs and how they fit into our lives. Every dog is a family member and a good citizen. These are cage-free, organic turkey & sweet potato-fed little Frenchies that are part of our families. They snore in our bed every night and follow us everywhere. Health and happiness matter. That's why we go the extra mile and are proud to display our health tested OFA certifications!
Our dogs must pass all of these criteria before we even consider breeding.
We've also tested our Pied French Bulldog studs for over 172+ genetic diseases and they are clear!
Why? Because we can. Get the piece of mind your litter deserves - health above all else!
Stud Service provided to approved AKC French Bulldog females. We are picky, but for all the right reasons.
Like any self respecting French Bulldog Stud, Benny has that wonderful, charismatic personality that knows no stranger. There's not a mean bone in his body and he is an all around good sport.
It's important to have a good citizen in your home. Who wants a rotten egg with a pretty shell? Not Us.
